How to Apply For an Instant Credit Card

By Leni Parrish on September 17, 2009

Applying for a credit card is easier nowadays.  For those who cannot qualify for a Prime credit card because of a low credit score, applying for an instant credit card is the answer.  It is obvious by its name that this type of card grants easy approval for everyone.  Yes, it does not matter whether you have good credit or not.  As long as you have a proof of income, you can surely open an account with no hassle.

Can you also apply for an instant credit card from the internet?  Of course you can!  In fact, most issuers prefer the online mode of application because it is more convenient and faster.  Application forms can be filled out online.  Once you have submitted this form, all you need to do is to wait for a few minutes to get a response.  Sometimes it may take a few hours to get a response, but rest assured you will know the status of the application within the same day.

Before submitting the application, it would be wise to spend more time looking around what different issuers have to offer before making a choice.  Since instant approval cards tend to have higher rates than credit cards that require good credit history, you want to make sure that you will get the lowest possible rate offer.  The only way to do this is by comparing different cards available in the market.

The good thing about the internet is that you can compare choices more easily.  You can check out comparison websites to make this task even more convenient.  These websites allow you to choose two, three or more cards of the same category and see them side by side.  This way, checking the interest rate, fees, and terms that each card has to offer is easier and does not require having to switch from one website to another.

Take time in reading reviews submitted by other cardholders.  Since these people may have already used that card at one time, they can give real feedback about a particular credit card.  It is also a good idea to ask for advice from your friends or relatives especially those who have been using credit cards for a long time.
After making a choice, carefully review the Agreement page of your chosen credit card.
See to it that you understand your duties as a cardholder especially with the repayment terms.  More importantly, get to know how your instant card can help improve your personal credit so you can get approved for a Prime credit card the next time you need one.
